Nevada Primary Caucus Results 2008
The results of the 2008 Nevada caucus are below along with your opinions. This is a live-blogging open thread so we want to hear from you on election day.

The race in Nevada is between Mitt Romney and John McCain. My guess is that despite all of the fanfare, McCain will triumph easily over Romney. If I am wrong, I will give Romney a second look. I just don’t think that his cocky eastern mannerisms have much appeal in the west. Prove me wrong, Mitt Romney. Look for Mike Huckabee to get no more than 10% of the vote. You can think about why on your own time.
Nevada Caucus - Primary Results and Exit Polls
The race on the Democratic site is equally interesting. Barack Obama has all of the momentum but none of the baggage that goes with expectations. He may actually win this race, in which case Hillary has more work to do. But I expect that Hillary will win this one for the same reasons as McCain. Barack Obama, prove me wrong that you have appeal outside the Democratic establishment.

Romney about 46%
Ron Paul about 20%
John McCain about 10%
Fred Thompson about 9%
MIke Huckabee about 8%
Rudi Giulian about 4%
Duncan Hunter about 2%
25% of all the votes were cast by Mormons, so something is up in camp Romney. 94% of Mormon voters went for Romney.
Democrat exit polls:
Exit polls in Nevada showing Hillary beating Obama with plenty to spare, about 48-35%. Looks like she is an easy winners. She trounced Obama among women and even beat him among men. The early returns show an even race so they may be way off.

In a mild surprise to only me, Mitt Romney wins a sparsely attended Nevada caucus. 20% of the turnout was Mormon. He must have bussed in supporters from neighborhood Utah. Kidding. Romney has 46% of the vote in the early stages of counting.
Mitt Romney’s victory tells me that big-government Republicanism is still playing well among party regulars. His solutions for the problems of Michigan and Nevada and every state he visits is more federal money for them. He talks fiscal responsibility in fuzzy general terms, but the specifics are more largess and less individual responsibility. It may take a Hillary Clinton presidency to cure what ails the Republican party today.
Meanwhile the fight goes on in Nevada for Obama and Hillary. The latest news is that Bill Clinton himself personally witnessed voter “suppression” in Nevada. She must have been cute.

See exit polls above. Hillary is way ahead in them, but the early returns so she is tied. Expect Hillary to win but it will be closer than expected. My guess is that feminist exit poll workers skewed the results by interviewing the wrong people again.
